BEHIND THE ALBUM · SONGIMONY

Made for More

Music for the journey from darkness to light.

An album that meets you where you are—and walks with you toward who you can become.

Made for More album artwork — a path from darkness toward light

You don’t have to start in the light.

Made for More began with a simple question: What could music do for someone who feels stuck? Someone carrying self-doubt, shame, loneliness or patterns they want to change may need more than an instruction to be positive. They may first need words for what they are experiencing—and a reason to believe the story is still open.

This album was created to be a companion: to acknowledge the struggle, introduce another possibility and make room for a next step.

The idea was bigger than inspirational songs. The first step wasn’t writing music. It was asking a more fundamental question: What actually helps people move out of these places? Depression, addiction, hopelessness, shame and chronic self-doubt are complicated human experiences. There isn’t one lyric, one song or one idea capable of solving them.

Hope. Connection. Purpose. Self-compassion. Agency. Healthy habits. Meaning. Serving others. Recognizing destructive thought patterns. Seeking help. Resilience. And the belief that change is possible. Those principles became the foundation for Made for More. Songimony’s role was to put them into the language of story, emotion and music.

What does this person need to hear at this point in the journey?

That question shaped the writing. A song about shame should feel different from a song about hope. A song about feeling trapped should sound different from a song about discovering agency. A song about questioning your worth should lead somewhere different from a song about discovering identity.

Each song has a purpose within the larger journey. Some acknowledge the darkness. Some challenge the lies that keep people there. Some introduce a new perspective, invite action or confront fear. And some begin to sound like freedom. The album becomes a progression.

“What if this isn’t the end of your story?”

Change begins with movement.

Darkness → awareness → questioning → hope → choice → action → resilience → identity → strength → freedom. These are movements through the album, not a test to pass or a timetable for anyone’s life. The songs overlap and return to earlier ideas. You can listen in sequence or begin with the song that meets you today.

Music to support the journey. Not a treatment or a promise of a cure.

Nine songs. A story still becoming.

Each song carries a purpose within the larger journey. Follow the album in order, or pause with a chapter that speaks to where you are.

01 — Voices

I AM NOT THE LIES I HEAR.

The opening song gives language to the doubts that can begin to sound like identity. Then another voice enters the conversation: one that leaves room for mercy, worth and a future beyond what has happened.

There are voices in the darkness
But they don’t decide my name

Listen to Voices

02 — Running Empty

I CANNOT CARRY EVERYTHING ALONE.

Exhaustion can hide behind an ordinary answer: 'I'm good.' This chapter makes room for honesty and reaching out. Needing a hand becomes something a person can acknowledge without giving up their dignity.

I don’t have to carry
Every burden by myself

Listen to Running Empty

03 — Quiet Battles

I SEE OTHERS WITH COMPASSION.

The story turns outward, toward the people whose struggles remain unseen. Listening before judging creates room for connection. A person's story is larger than what we can see from the outside.

Maybe love begins the moment
That we simply listen first

Listen to Quiet Battles

04 — Heavy

MY PAIN IS NOT MY IDENTITY.

The weight is real, but it does not have to become a name. Heavy returns to what has been carried and begins to separate the person from the burden, opening space for a different relationship with the past.

I’m not the weight I carry
I’m not the pain I’ve known

Listen to Heavy

05 — Open My Eyes

I SEE A NEW PERSPECTIVE.

The question shifts from replaying disappointment to noticing what else might be true. This turning point opens a view of possibility, quiet victories and choices that fear may have kept out of sight.

Maybe I don’t need a new life
Maybe I need a new view

Listen to Open My Eyes

06 — Breathe Again

I BEGIN AGAIN.

After so much holding on, the song makes room for release. Beginning again does not require every answer in advance. The story starts to imagine a life with space for more than survival.

I’m not just trying to survive
I’m learning how to live again

Listen to Breathe Again

07 — Stand

I CHOOSE COURAGE.

Courage becomes a choice that can be made while fear is still present. Stand moves the story from waiting for the perfect moment toward taking the next step, with the scars and uncertainty still part of the journey.

The person I become tomorrow
Starts with the choice I make next

Listen to Stand

08 — Stronger Than Fear

FEAR NO LONGER CONTROLS ME.

Fear can be present without writing the ending. The chapter builds on the choice to stand: resilience becomes the willingness to move, return and choose again when the road remains uncertain.

But fear is just a feeling
It is not a prophecy

Listen to Stronger Than Fear

09 — Made for More

I REMEMBER WHO I CAN BECOME.

The title track brings the album's questions into a statement of identity. The destination is not perfection or the disappearance of struggle. It is the possibility of seeing a future larger than the pain—and recognizing that the story is still being written.

I’m not defined by where I’ve been
I’m defined by who I’m becoming

The Music Has to Transform Too

If the album is about transformation, the music itself has to transform. The musical arrangements therefore aren’t merely decoration around the lyrics. They are part of the storytelling. Early moments can be more restrained, intimate, vulnerable and uncertain. As the ideas become stronger, the music can become larger.

Rhythms gain momentum. Instrumentation expands. Melodies become more expansive. Vocals become more confident. Riffs emerge and return with greater significance.

And at key moments, the harmonic landscape itself changes. The listener doesn’t simply hear someone talking about change. The music itself changes underneath the story. That is intentional.

The Power of the Riff

The recurring riffs and musical motifs serve an important storytelling purpose. A musical idea can return throughout a song carrying emotional memory with it. The first time the listener hears it, it may represent struggle. Later, the same musical idea may return with greater strength. The notes haven’t necessarily changed.

Their meaning within the story has. That creates a subtle musical metaphor for transformation. The circumstances may not instantly disappear. But the listener’s relationship to them can change. The same world can sound different when hope enters it.

The Key Change: A Musical Turning Point

One of the most deliberate transformational devices is the key change. A key change can give musical form to a sense of elevation. The music moves upward. The emotional landscape opens. The song suddenly feels capable of going somewhere it couldn’t go before.

In Made for More, that device is used as a musical representation of an internal shift. The listener has spent time inside one emotional world. Then something changes. The music rises. And the message becomes:

There is another level available to you. The key change isn’t intended simply to make the song bigger. It represents possibility. The possibility that the person who entered the song in one emotional state doesn’t have to leave it in the same place.

From Shame to Identity

Addiction and destructive patterns can become intertwined with identity. A person can move from: “I did something destructive” to: “I am destructive.”

From: “I failed” to: “I am a failure.” From:

“I struggle with this” to: “This is who I am.” One of the underlying purposes of Made for More is to challenge that collapse of behavior into identity. A person can acknowledge what they’ve done without believing that their worst behavior completely defines who they are.

That distinction creates room for change. The album continually points toward the idea that identity can become larger than the struggle. You can have a history without being imprisoned by it. You can acknowledge weakness without making weakness your identity. You can have fallen without deciding that you are incapable of standing again.

From Helplessness to Agency

Another central principle behind the album is agency. When someone has struggled for a long time, they can begin to believe that nothing they do matters. That belief can become its own prison. Made for More therefore emphasizes the power of the next choice. Not because one choice magically solves everything.

But because every transformation has to begin somewhere. The message becomes: *You may not control everything.
But there is something you can do next.* That might be asking for help. Getting out of bed.

Walking outside. Calling someone. Telling the truth. Choosing not to give in this time. Trying again after failing.

Taking one step toward something meaningful. The point isn’t the size of the action. The point is agency.

From Isolation to Connection

Darkness often becomes more powerful in isolation. The album therefore isn’t designed as a voice shouting instructions from a distance. It is designed to feel like a companion. Someone walking beside the listener. Someone saying:

Keep going. You aren’t finished. You are not your worst moment. There is still a future. And ultimately:

You don’t have to walk this road alone. The album can’t provide human connection by itself. But it can remind someone to seek it.

From Addiction Toward Mastery

The album’s ultimate destination isn’t simply abstinence from a particular behavior. It is the development of a different relationship with oneself. The movement is from being controlled by destructive patterns toward increasing self-direction. From: impulse → choice

compulsion → awareness shame → self-understanding hopelessness → hope passivity → agency chaos → direction

isolation → connection survival → purpose And ultimately: addiction → increasing mastery. Mastery doesn’t mean never struggling.

It doesn’t mean becoming invulnerable. It means becoming increasingly capable of recognizing the struggle, making healthier choices, recovering from setbacks, seeking help and directing one’s life toward something meaningful.

The Album Doesn’t Promise an Easy Journey

This is important. Made for More doesn’t promise that listening to the album will cure depression or addiction. It isn’t a replacement for professional treatment, therapy, medication when appropriate, recovery programs, family support, community or spiritual resources. The album’s purpose is different. It is designed to support the journey.

To give someone language when they can’t find the words. To give them hope when hope is difficult to access. To challenge destructive beliefs. To remind them of their worth. To encourage the next right choice.

And to give musical form to the possibility of transformation, without promising any particular outcome for a listener.

The Album Is a Journey

Ultimately, Made for More isn’t about one moment. It’s about movement. The movement from: darkness to light doubt to belief

shame to worth fear to courage isolation to connection weakness to strength hopelessness to hope

addiction toward mastery And perhaps most importantly: from simply surviving to discovering a reason to live differently. The album doesn’t ask the listener to pretend that the darkness isn’t there. It asks them to believe that darkness doesn’t have to be the final destination.

The songs are designed to walk with them through that space. To meet them where they are. To tell the truth about the struggle. To introduce principles that can create movement. To let the music itself become more powerful as the message becomes more hopeful.

And eventually to arrive somewhere different. Not necessarily at perfection. Not necessarily at the end of the struggle. But at a place where the listener can begin to say: I can change.

I am not my past. There is hope. There is a next step. I am capable of becoming something different. My story isn’t over.

That is the heart of Made for More. It is an album built around a simple belief:

The place you are in today does not have to be the place where your story ends.

And sometimes, before a person can find the strength to take the next step, they simply need someone—or something—to walk beside them long enough to help them believe that the next step is possible.

Keep listening. Keep becoming.
